Submitting data to GRESB at location level

When your asset has a valid GRESB asset ID and you have confirmed that your asset is reporting against the correct entity, use the GRESB Asset Summary (with API) page to send your asset data to GRESB at the location level.

Before you begin

Send validation requests to understand how GRESB will read your data and prioritize tags. For more information, see the related links.

About this task

The send request bypasses validation. Therefore, review your data carefully before sending it. If the sent data contains a mistake, you can correct it and resend it or, alternatively, clear the data altogether.

You can send data to GRESB during the three month reporting period each year, and you can perform the API data transfer any number of times during the period, for example, to overwrite previously submitted values.

Procedure

  1. Select the rows of data that you want to send to GRESB.
  2. Click Actions > Send to GRESB
The API request usually takes 10-20 seconds.
    1. If the screen refreshes and the Status column shows that the request has not yet completed, refresh your browser.
    • If your request was successful, you will see your data in the Current - GRESB and Previous - GRESB columns.
    • If your request was not accepted for some reason, usually because of a bad asset ID or because the asset has not been found in the group on GRESB, you will see an error message in the Validation column.
  3. Optional: To clear sent data, select the rows that you want to clear, right-click and click Clear.

What to do next

After data is sent to GRESB through the API, the Current - GRESB and Previous - GRESB field might not show the updated values stored in GRESB immediately. This is because of the timing of the API data submission, and the timing of the page refresh to get the latest values stored in GRESB. After data is sent, wait a few minutes for the API data transfer to GRESB to be completed, and then refresh the page twice, with approximately one minute between each refresh. The updated values will be displayed after the two refreshes. Alternatively, you can log into GRESB’s web portal directly to review values there to confirm the update.

Energy ratings of an asset will be shown only as rating IDs on the page. For more information about GRESB Building Certifications energy ratings mappings, see the related link.
