Requesting data capture
In IBM® Envizi ESG Suite, you can send a request to users to capture data. Use the Issue Tracking component to make the request, track the workflow, and follow up on overdue requests. A data capture issue type is created to track the request.
You can create a data capture issue or you can schedule the bulk creation of data capture issues. A sustainability manager who manages several locations must manage data that is captured by many different users. Issue Tracking automates the process of creating and scheduling data capture requests. By using data capture issues, you can request data to be captured for multiple account styles and locations and assign the requests to different users, all by using a single form.
The workflow in Figure 1 shows that a single data capture request generates multiple data capture issues for different accounts across multiple locations but sends a single consolidated email notification to each assignee.
Data capture issues must be used only to request data capture for manually created accounts.
- Requesting data.
- Requesting a one-shot capture of data. For example, a sustainability manager requests cost data for a specific account from a facility or property manager.
- Scheduling data capture requests. For example, a sustainability manager requires up-to-date account data for specific accounts in several locations on a periodic basis.
- Capturing data based on a request. For example, a facility manager receives requests to capture data on multiple accounts and tracks and respond to these requests.
- Monitoring data capture requests. For example, a sustainability manager tracks progress of all outstanding data capture requests and closes issues in bulk when the requests are completed.
