Dashboard features

Each dashboard includes common features, such as setting the time range, comparing data, and filtering data.

Data refresh

Typically, organization and group-level dashboards are based on large volumes of monthly aggregated data. Review the Last Updated On timestamp to see the day when the dashboard was last refreshed.

If there is no Last Updated On timestamp, the data you are viewing is live and not subject to a daily refresh. The daily refresh of aggregated monthly data is performed outside of regular working hours.

Time range

Set the time range of the dashboard from the time scale. Use the slider to select specific months. You can select a maximum of 12 months.

Comparisons

You can include comparisons between your current selection and other time periods on the dashboard. If a baseline year is set for your organization, then you can compare your current data with the baseline data.

View by unit of measure

In many dashboards, you can set a unit of measure as the scope of the dashboards. You view aggregated data by a unit of measure, including:
  • Cost
  • Energy
  • Emissions
  • Mass
  • Volume

Each organization has a default unit of measure for dashboards.

Filters

You can apply filter criteria to filter the data on your dashboard. Dashboards have filter criteria that are unique to them.
  1. Click Filter to open the filter dialog.
  2. Select filter criteria. By default all criteria are selected.
  3. Click Apply to apply a filter to your dashboard. The filter criteria are listed under the dashboard name.
  4. Click Clear All to return to the default filter criteria.
After you apply filter criteria, the same criteria automatically apply when you open similar dashboards during the same user session.

Actions

Several actions are available to take on a dashboard by clicking Actions:
  • Email a dashboard to send it to a recipient.
  • Schedule a dashboard to build the dashboard and email it to recipients on a regular basis.
  • Save a view to save your customizations to a dashboard.

Grid views

On many charts, you can view your data in a grid view. Click The Down icon to open a grid view. You can export the data in tabular format to a file. General options for grid views are available. For more information, see Using grids.

Settings

On some charts, you can customize the maximum number of items to display and the sort order. Click The Settings icon to open the Settings dialog.

Dashboard views

If you make customizations to a dashboard you can save it as a view. To save a view:
  1. On the dashboard, click Actions and click Save View.
  2. Enter a name. Maximum number of characters is 75.
  3. Enter a description.
  4. Click Share this view to make the dashboard available to others in your organization.

When you save a view, you do not switch automatically to that view.

Dashboard customizations are listed in the My Views menu. Your views are tagged as personal and the views that are shared by others are tagged as shared. You can update and delete your own views. An administrator can edit and update all views.

When you open a view, the view name is included in the dashboard name, for example, Performance By Data Type > User123 view. Click Save As New View to create a new version of the view.
