Setting up data type captions

Use captions to rename a data type to your own preferred data type name for your organization.

About this task

When you add a caption to a data type, the caption is used everywhere in IBM® Envizi ESG Suite in place of the original data type name.
Note:
  • You must be a system administrator in Envizi ESG Suite to set up data type captions.
  • It can take 24 hours for the rename of the data type to be reflected in PowerReports and on group and organization dashboards.
  • You cannot rename a data type to use the same name as another data type or the same captions as another data type.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, click Admin and select Data Type Captions.
  2. In the Alternate Captions grid, click Create New.
  3. In Entity, select Data Type.
  4. In Instance, select the data type to rename.
  5. In Alternate Captions, assign a name to the data type.
  6. Click Save.
