CDP PowerReports

Some disclosure questions require data that is captured in other parts of IBM® ESG Suite. This type of data is usually quantitative and can be found in PowerReports. Reports, where available, are embedded in the guidance and are also available under the Reports section.

Note: The 2024 and 2025 CDP Climate PowerReports are virtually identical. For information about the 2024 PowerReport, refer to the 2025 information.

CDP Climate PowerReport 2025

The CDP - Climate - 2025 report is a PowerReport that brings together the data that you need to respond to questions in a Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) disclosure.

The CDP Climate PowerReport is based on the monthly data set. It uses financial year at the default reporting period. With the monthly data set, you can report on any period of time. However, because the report allows you to compare with previous reporting periods, it is recommended that your administrator set the financial year setting for the platform to align with your 12-month reporting period in the CDP report. As a system administrator, complete these steps:
  1. From the main menu, click Admin > Organization Settings.
  2. From the Reporting and Dashboard Preferences tab, in Set Financial Reporting Preferences section, select the month that marks the end of your financial year.
The settings are refreshed overnight.

The CDP Climate report is part of the Scope 1 & 2 GHG Accounting module.

Note: The following improvements are made to the 2024 version of the report:
  • Inclusion of extracts for data related to Forests, Water, Plastics and Biodiversity.
  • Updating of all question codes to align with the new questionnaire.
  • Scope 3 emissions improvement on reporting by scope 3 category, data type, and account style.
  • Inclusion of Market-based Emissions reporting.

The table of contents in the report lists each question and provides a way to quickly access the quantitative data to respond to each question based on the reporting period that you specify. Guidance is provided to help you respond to questions. You can export the responses offline and enter the data in other reporting system or into the template.

From the table of contents, you can drill down to see scope 1 emissions by business activity. You can drill down to see scope 3 emissions by region. For scope 3, you see global scope 3 emissions by data type and data type. The report shows you how well your organization performance against your emissions and energy targets. It displays detailed emissions and energy data, organized as responses to the CDP questions.

In the 2023, questions in CDP related to market-based emissions were not included in the monthly dataset. This year, market-based emissions are included and only one report needs to be run to respond to quantitative questions from CDP. For more information about how to configure the Market-based emissions report, see Market-based Emissions report

If your organization captures program data in Envizi ESG Suite, your program data is available in the CDP Climate. The report automatically configures your actions to align with the CDP reporting structure.
Note: If your organization uses custom names for programs fields, one or two of the tables might not load in the CDP Climate report. The PowerReport is configured to structure tables and columns based on their default names. To fix this issue, identify the field that is causing the error from the error message, and then follow the steps to modify custom fields.
  1. In the Global search field, select Reports and enter CDP.
  2. Select the report from the Reports grid and click Actions > Run Report.
  3. Set the report criteria, for example, group, location type, data type, and meter.
  4. Click Submit. The report opens in a new tab.
  5. Select the reporting period, such as the last year.
  6. Browse the CDP response per scope level and verify your response.
  7. Export the responses to a CSV file. On each table, from the ellipse menu, click Export data.

Report configuration
The CDP Climate PowerReport reporting period is based on the Monthly dataset - basic fields and uses the Financial Year as the default reporting period. This dataset allows the organization to report on any period, but some visuals include comparisons of previous periods so it is recommended to change the Financial Year setting in Envizi ESG Suite to align with your 12-month reporting period for CDP. To configure the setting, navigate to Admin > Organization Settings > Reporting and Dashboard Preferences and in the Set financial reporting preferences, select the reporting period.
Market-based emissions
Questions in the CDP related to market-based emissions have been handled in another report as currently market-based emissions are not included in the Monthly dataset - basic fields.
For more information about how to configure market-based emissions, see Market-based Emissions report.
Programs data
If your organization captures programs data in Envizi ESG Suite, this information is visible in the CDP PowerReport. The report automatically configures your actions to align with the CDP reporting structure.
Note:

If your organization uses custom naming for Programs fields, one or two of the tables may not load because the PowerReport is configured to structure tables and columns based on default names. To fix this issue you can read the error message and identify the field that is causing the error, and then amend the custom field in the Envizi ESG Suite platform.

Reporting to CDP
When you are satisfied with the data that is presented in the PowerReport, you can extract the data to Microsoft Excel for reporting using the ellipses menu and then selecting Export Data.
