CDP framework
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) framework aims to promote transparency and accountability on environmental issues. CDP enables investors, customers, and regulators to assess an organization's environmental performance, and align with other global frameworks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.
- Climate change impact
- GHG Emissions, climate-related impacts, governance and strategy regarding climate action and targets and progress toward emission reduction goal.
- Water security
- Water withdrawal and discharge volumes, risks related to water availability and pollution, strategies to address water security in the supply chain and operations.
- Forests
- Impact and reliance on commodities such as timber, palm oil, soy, cattle, deforestation risks and mitigation plans and traceability and certification of sourcing.
CDP currently offers three core questionnaires that focus on climate change, water security, and forests. These questionnaires are further tailored through a range of sector-specific questionnaires, which classify industries into high impact and low impact sectors. Organizations can select the questionnaire that best aligns with their business activities. To do so, you can consult the CDP Activity List and request to have the relevant sector-specific questionnaire enabled in Envizi Library.
As an accredited CDP solution provider, IBM® ESG Suite ensures that your reporting process is seamless and accurate. Our implementation within the Sustainability Reporting Manager includes all required tables and questions exactly as required by CDP and covers all sectors and including the SME questionnaire for small and medium enterprises.
To help report to CDP, Sustainability Reporting Manager users can request their sector and have it added into their Sustainability Reporting Manager Framework Library. Users can then easily extract the data that is captured within the Sustainability Reporting Manager framework to comply with CDP’s reporting requirements, making the process efficient and ensuring full compliance with CDP standards. This enables your organization to manage, report, and leverage its environmental data with confidence and ease.
