Responding to a survey from the platform

Email notifications are sent to respondents to notify them about surveys that are awaiting their response. As a respondent to a survey, you open the link in the email that the issue has generated and you log in to the platform to respond to any survey that is assigned to you.

Before you begin

A survey administrator assigns a survey to a respondent. For more information, see Distributing the survey.

About this task

As a respondent, answer at least all of the mandatory questions and submit the survey when it is complete. To communicate with a survey administrator, you can add a comment to the issue that is associated with survey. The administrator receives an email notification with the comment. The administrator can reply by adding a comment to the issue.

When you respond to a survey, you don't have to answer all of the questions at once. You can save some answers and complete the remaining questions later.

Procedure

  1. Open the survey to add your response. Use one of the following options:
    • Click the profile icon to open the Personal Settings menu. Click My Work to see the issues that are assigned to you. Open the issue that is related to the survey, click View Survey Response, and complete the survey.
    • From the Navigator, browse your organization hierarchy to find your location, open the Location Summary page, and click the Survey Response quick link. Then, click View in the email notification that is sent for the issue to open the related issue.
  2. In each section, add your response to each of the questions.
  3. Click Save to save the responses to the survey and stay on the page or click Save & Continue to move to the next section.
If you click a section header, your response is saved and you move to that section.
  4. When you have completed all of your answers, open the issue that is associated with the survey response and change the status to Submitted.

What to do next

The survey administrator monitors the responses and when the administrator is satisfied that a survey is completed and that no further changes are required, the administrator changes the issue status to Resolved.
