Modifying accounts

A system administrator can create, edit, close, and delete an account.

Before you begin

Open the Accounts grid. From the main menu, click Manage > Accounts to open the Accounts grid.

About this task

Note: When you want to edit an account where the account data is loaded by using a data connector, contact the IBM Envizi support team. Changes to the account details can disrupt data connector functionality.

When you close an account, you must specify a closed on date. You can close accounts individually or in bulk.

Procedure

  • To edit an account, select an account in the Accounts grid, and click Actions > Edit Account.
    1. Edit any of the fields that you set when you created an account.
    2. Click Save.
  • To close an account, select one or more accounts in the Accounts grid, and click Actions > Close Account(s).
    1. Required. Set the Replaced_On date.
    2. Click Save.
  • To delete an account, select one or more accounts in the Accounts grid, and click Actions > Delete Account(s).
  • To reopen an account, select a single account in the Accounts grid, and click Actions > Edit Account.
  • Clear the Replaced_On date.

What to do next

After you update accounts, run the Extract for Accounts report to verify that the updates are consistent with the configuration of other accounts in the organization. The reports can assist in identifying inconsistencies in naming conventions and account style selection.
