Elastic Capacity on Demand - Ordering and enabling resources
Elastic Capacity on Demand (eCoD) is an easy way for IBM customers to activate their Power9, Power10 hardware processor and memory resources.
It takes only 3 steps from need to activation:
Step 1
Buy a pool of Elastic processor or memory on demand resources
Step 2
Use part of it (or all at one time) to "charge" one or more eligible Power Systems with needed resource "days of usage"
Step 3
Apply your activation codes through the Hardware Management Console (HMC) to make the resources immediately available for your Power Systems to use
It takes less than a minute from start to finish to order and get your activation codes and you do everything within the My Entitled Hardware > Power Capacity on Demand application in ESS:
Elastic CoD - Purchase more capacity - you can purchase more Elastic resources in ESS. Customer numbers must be registered and authorized to submit orders for them. After you choose one of your customer numbers, ESS checks which Power Systems are installed in your enterprise and show a list of supported Elastic resources to purchase.
Elastic CoD - Generate new codes - you can find all orders and their remaining Elastic capacity in ESS. It includes both orders that you submitted and orders that were submitted by anyone else under customer numbers you are registered and authorized for. In this application, you can start provisioning your purchased Elastic resources.
Elastic CoD - Download existing codes - any activation codes that were previously created for your supported Power9, Power10 systems together with their details can be found in ESS.
A Hardware Management Console (HMC) is required to administer this eCoD offering.
