System architecture

A typical architecture of IBM® Enterprise Records components in a FileNet® P8 environment depends on the version of FileNet P8 you are using.

If you use FileNet P8 5.2 or later, a typical architecture includes the Content Platform Engine server, the IBM Content Navigator server. This architecture also includes a Crystal Reports server, a database server, a directory server, the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, and a browser client.

You can place all of the components on one server, but only in a demonstration or development. The following graphic illustrates a typical distributed architecture.
