Configuring IBM Enterprise Records

By using the IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager, you can perform several configuration tasks. These tasks are separated into two profiles.

About this task

These profiles and their list of tasks are completed in the following order:
  • Object store configuration profile – This profile configures object stores to allow storage of IBM Enterprise Records related objects. Content Platform Engine connection information must be specified for this profile.
  • Object store configuration for upgrade profile: This profile upgrades file plan and record-enabled object stores from previous versions of IBM Enterprise Records and IBM InfoSphere® Enterprise Records. Content Platform Engine connection information must be specified for this profile.
Important: You must create new IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager profiles when configuring or upgrading object stores for IBM Enterprise Records.
Important: The IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager steps for deploying IBM Enterprise Records on containers are similar to the IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager steps for deploying IBM Enterprise Records On-Premise.
Remember the following points when you prepare to configure IBM Enterprise Records:
  • You must complete these tasks before adding IERApplicationPlugin.jar plug-in into IBM Content Navigator.
  • If you need an accessible software version of Configuration Manager for people with disabilities, use the command-line version of Configuration Manager.
  • By default, the EAR file is located in the ier_install_path/deploy directory.
