System definitions for z/OS

z/OS data set definitions
Every data set that a build process references must correspond to a data set definition. These topics describe data set definitions and how to create them.
z/OS language definitions
A language definition serially connects the translators used to build artifacts. The association of a language definition to an artifact provides instructions for how the artifact should be built.
z/OS translators
A translator describes an operation that is run on a file during a build.
z/OS system definitions generator
With the system definitions generator, you can automate the creation of data set definitions, translators, and language definitions, instead of using an editor interface to create each piece of build metadata separately and manually.
z/OS system definition reference searches
To maintain the integrity of your repository artifact references, use a system definition reference search to find out whether any inactive artifacts that you might archive are referenced by other artifacts.
Mapping system definitions across repositories
You can set up dependency builds in two different repositories, and duplicate the system definitions required for the builds. To ensure that files are built correctly in the separate repositories requires that you set up a system mapping for the repositories.
