Updating the ClearCase Synchronizer environment after server rename: Production scenarios
If you rename the Jazz® Team Server that the ClearCase Synchronizer connects to, you must update your ClearCase Synchronizer environment accordingly. These instructions apply to pilot-to-deployment-to-production and production-to-production environments.
You can change the URI of Jazz Team Server. Because the ClearCase Synchronizer connects to a Jazz Team Server, after the server is renamed, you must update the synchronization environment so that it specifies the new URI.
About this task
- Stop the synchronization build engine process. For detailed instructions, see Stopping the synchronization engine process.
- In the IBM® Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) Eclipse client, update the Jazz Team Server repository connection URI of that client, log in to the repository, and restart the client when you are prompted.
- From the ClearCase® Synchronized Streams view, restart the synchronization build engine process. For detailed instructions, see Starting the synchronization engine process.
The synchronization engine is now connected to the renamed server, and the next synchronization connects to the new URI. If you verify that the synchronization build engines are connected to the renamed server, the build engine console displays Waiting for request, rather than Repository connection failed.
