Viewing files in the repository workspace

You can use the Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) client to view the files that are loaded to the repository workspace.

Before you begin

Before you view files in the workspace, you must be connected to a repository and logged in to the repository connection. The workspace must also be loaded.

Procedure

On the Repository Workspaces panel, enter one of the following choices.
  • To work with files loaded to a data set, enter JD next to the repository workspace and press the Enter key to view the loaded data sets.
    1. In the z/OS Data Sets panel, enter a slash (/) next to the data set where the zFiles are loaded and press the Enter key.
      Notes:
      • You can enter a Pattern of names to limit the number of members in a data set that are displayed. The pattern that you enter can include standard ISPF conventions of an asterisk (*) and the percent sign (%). For example, you can enter EP* to display only members whose names begin with EP.
      • Data sets with Yes under the SCM column contain members that are under SCM control.
      • To display or hide the SCM status of files in the SCM column of the Source Control panel, click the SCM ON/OFF field on the z/OS Data Sets panel. Setting SCM to OFF improves the performance during source control work.
    2. In the Data Set List Actions panel, enter a 1 in the data set action field and press the Enter key. The Source Control panel lists the loaded files.
  • To work with files loaded to a UNIX directory, enter JU beside the UNIX directory and press the Enter key to view the directory.

Note: If you create a z/OS® UNIX directory by using the MD NEWDIR primary command, the newly created directory in the workspace is displayed on the file list. The SCM column contains a question mark (?) next to the directory, which means that the directory is not under source control. To get the directory under source control, share it to the loaded repository workspace.
      1. Enter an S next to the directory with the question mark (?) and press the Enter key to share the directory.

      4. When the screen reverts to the z/OS UNIX Directory List panel, the SCM column is blank, which means that the directory is now under source control and has no changes
    3. If the Type is File, the list displays the files in the directory.
