Owners and administrators can change the read access permissions
for streams, repository workspaces, components, and files and folders.
If a component or stream is owned by a team or project area, the process
area permissions determine who can set read access permissions.
Before you begin
You must be an owner or administrator to change read access
permissions on streams, repository workspaces, components, files or
folders.
Procedure
- Optional: To set read access on a stream or
repository workspace:
- In the Team Artifacts view, right-click
a stream or repository workspace; then, click Open.
Tip: You can also open the editor from other locations,
such as the Pending Changes or Search view.
- In the editor, click the Change... button
to the right of the visibility label.
- In the Select Read Access Permission window,
select the permission level and click OK.
- In the editor, click Save.
Note: To restrict read access of a stream to a team area, the
team area must be the owner of the stream.
- Optional: To set read access on a component:
- In the Team Artifacts view, right-click
a component in a stream or repository workspace; then, click Open.
Tip: You can also open a component editor
from other locations, such as the Pending Changes or Search view.
- In the editor, click the Change... button
to the right of the visibility label.
- In the Select Read Access Permission window,
select the permission level and click OK.
- In the editor, click Save.
Note: To restrict read access to a team area, the team area
must be the owner of the component.
- Optional: To set read access on a file or folder:
- In the Repository Files view, Change
Explorer, or Change Summary view, right-click the file or folder;
then, click Change Access Control.
- In the Select Read Access Permission window, select the
permission level.
- Click OK.
Note: When you check in a new file or folder, it inherits the read access from its parent
folder.
