Planning the development with the web client

Use the web client to plan and manage development projects.

Planning projects
Use plans to show an overview of the significant goals and all of the work items for a release or an iteration. You create plans from the Plans menu option.
Changing plan configuration settings for a project
You can manage plan data, including setting project working hours and days and computing progress of release plans in the Project Area editor.
Managing work items
You can manage work items to add, modify, assign, or group them in a plan.
Managing project resources
You can view, add, and edit resource allocations on the Resources tab. To allocate a resource to the project, you search for the resource availability and then add a resource allocation. This feature is available only if you are using the Formal Project Management process template.
Assessing team work with progress and load bars
You can assess your team's progress for a release or an iteration by viewing progress bars. You can see completed and estimated work load for your team. You can also determine if the project is likely to be completed on time or determine whether the team is overbooked.
