Rereferencing an IBM® i language definition, library definition, search path, or translator

Before you archive a particular language definition, library definition, search path, or translator, you can make any of that model object's dependencies reference another model object of the same type.

Before you begin

Before you can rereference language definition, library definition, search path, or translator dependencies, you must perform a system definition reference search. For more information, see Searching for object dependencies with the system definition reference search on IBM i.

Procedure

  1. In the system definition reference search results display in the Team Artifacts view, right-click either a language definition, library definition, search path, or translator whose dependencies you want to rereference.
    A popup menu is displayed.
  2. From the popup menu, select the References To action.
    The References To window opens. The first box displays all of the references to the object you selected.
  3. Select at least one entry from the References to current target box, then use the >>> button to move your selection to the Object to change reference box.
  4. Click Browse to specify which model object you want to rereference your selection to.
    If your selections are dependent on a language definition, for example, only a list of other language definitions is displayed.
  5. Click Finish to rereference your dependencies.
