Archiving IBM i language definitions, library definitions, search paths, and translators

You cannot delete language definitions, library definitions, search paths, or translators from a repository, but you can archive them. You can hide or display these archived objects in the Team Artifacts view.

About this task

The archive operation cannot be undone, so be sure that you really want to archive a language definition, library definition, search path, or translator before you do so.
Tip: It is recommended that you run the system definition reference search before you archive a language definition, library definition, search path, or translator, so that you can discover and display any references to the object you want to archive, and then decide whether to redirect these references, or rereference them, to a new target.

Procedure

  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand your project area node, expand the Enterprise Extensions node, then expand the Systems Definitions node. You can find all language definitions, library definitions, search paths, and translators under the appropriate system node; for example, the IBM® i node.
Note: To select a translator to archive, you must first expand the Language Definitions node.
  2. Right-click the library definition, language definition, or translator you want to archive.
  3. Select Archive.
  4. To hide or display archived objects in the Team Artifacts view, click the Customize My Filter toolbar button customize my filter toolbar button and clear or select Show Archived.
