Work with files in the repository
After you load your local workspace from the server repository,
you can take any of the actions in the following sections on any of
the loaded files. You can see a list of the files from either the Source
Control panel or the z/OS UNIX Directory List panel. In
the lists on the panels, you can enter a forward slash (/) next to a file
to see a menu of actions that you can take on the file.
Creating a file
You can create a file to add to your loaded repository workspace by using commands in the Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) client.
Sharing files to a repository
After you create files, share the files to a repository workspace.
Locking a shared file
You can lock resources in a stream to prevent other users from delivering changes to the file in that stream. Lock shared files to prevent team members from delivering changes to the file in the stream where you locked a file.
Unlocking a file
You can unlock files after you finish making your changes in a locked file.
Editing files
You can edit files that you loaded from your repository workspace.
Building a file with the User Build option
After you edited a file in your workspace, you might want to build it. To do so, you can use the User Build option available in the ( ( ( ) system definitions.
Replacing local changes in an ISPF file
You can replace the changes in a file and revert the contents of the file to the one stored in your repository workspace.
Viewing the change history of files or components
The change history of a file is a list of change sets. View the history of a file to see all the individual change sets that include the file, with the path name of the project in the repository.
Viewing and changing file properties
For any of the files in a data set, you can view and modify properties of the file.
Checking in a changed file
After you change a file in your workspace, check in the file to the loaded repository workspace.
Renaming a file in the repository workspace
You can rename a file in the repository workspace.
Deleting a file from the repository workspace
When you no longer need a file in the repository workspace, you can delete the file.
Searching for strings in data sets and members
You can search for a string or multiple strings in data sets or members, using the srchfor string command. The string value can be enclosed in single quotes or without the quotes. Double quotes around string are not valid. Enter srchfor without a string to display the SRCHFOR Options panel. On the SRCHFOR Options panel, you can enter additional search strings and other options.
