Lesson 4: Create a test suite execution record
In this lesson, you create a test suite execution record by using predefined testing environments.
About this task
To create the test suite execution record:
Procedure

If you have not already done so, log in as the tester (User ID:
tanuj, Password: tanuj).
If you are prompted with a project login dialog box, select the JKE Banking (Engineering Test Management) project.
- If you do not have the test suite open, click .
- From the list of test suites, click (Engineering Test Management Tutorial) Regression Test Suite in the Name column. The test suite opens in the test suite editor.
- Click the Test Suite Execution Records section.

To begin the Test Suite Execution Records wizard, click the Generate New Test Suite
Execution Records icon (
).
- In Test Plan, select Development Test. When you select a test plan for a test suite execution record, the execution results are associated with the test plan by default.
- In Iteration, select S2.
- Confirm Tanuj as the Owner.

Click the Reuse Existing Test Environments tab.
You use this tab to select predefined testing environments that specify the hardware and software components to use in your test.

In Test Plan, select Development Test to see the
testing environments that are already generated and associated with the test plan.
Notice that there is a test environment already defined and associated with the Development Test test plan.
- Select the environment in the list. This environment specifies that you will test the JKE Banking application by using Firefox, Db2® , Tomcat, and Linux. Click Next.
- Click Next again, and review the new test suite execution record.
- To make changes, click Previous; otherwise, click Finish.

Click Save to save the test suite.
The new test suite execution record is listed in the Test Suite Execution Records section of the test suite.
Results
Fast path: When your test suite is associated with a test plan, you can also create test
suite execution records directly in a test plan so that they are automatically linked to the test
plan. To create a test suite execution record in a test plan, open the Test Suites section of a
plan. Next, select one or more test suites and then click the Generate Execution
Record icon (
