Contributing to the community risk assessment

Each team member can contribute to the community risk assessment by adding an assessment to the My Risk section of a test plan, test case, or test suite.

About this task

The My Risk and Community Risk sections provide a discussion forum for test plan, test case, or test suite risk. Whereas the initial risk assessment is a summary of individual risks, the Community Risk assessment is a summary of the My Risk assessments from multiple team members. The calculations that contribute to the Community Risk assessment have no impact on the initial risk assessment.

Procedure

  1. Open a test plan, test case, or test suite, and click Risk Assessment in the table of contents.
  2. Review the initial risk assessment in the page.
  3. To provide your own risk assessment, click one of the circles in My Risk section.

Click the circle to indicate that the risk is very low (Low risk). Click the circle to indicate that the risk is very high (High risk.). Click the second, third, and fourth circles to indicate that the risk is low, neutral, or high.

When you add your own risk ranking, you can also add a comment, for example, This will be very hard to contain. Your comments are added to the list of comments in the Discussion section.

The software averages the My Risk ratings of the individual team members and provides an overall score in the Community Risk section.
