Linking test cases to architecture elements
In IBM® Engineering Test Management, you can create, view, and link to architecture elements that are stored in an Architecture Management application such as IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody® - Model Manager. In the test case editor, you can view architecture elements that are linked to test cases.
Before you begin
Add an association between the Engineering Test Management project area and the Architecture Management project area.
In the test case editor, add the Architecture Element Links section to a test case by using the Manage Sections dialog box. The Architecture Element Links section shows the architecture elements that are linked to the current test case.
Limitations:
- Discovering and repairing missing back link operations are not supported for architecture element links.
- If you do not enable configuration management, when you create a link to external artifacts in the Engineering Lifecycle Management application, a link is automatically created back to the source artifact, which is called a back link. However, the synchronization between bidirectional links and the traceability between source and target artifacts might be unavailable depending on certain transactional operations in the source or target application.
About this task
Procedure

- To browse through associated architecture management projects and find architecture elements to associate with the test case, click Add new links.
- To remove a link from the list, select the checkbox located next to an architecture element link and click Remove links. To restore a link, click Add new links.
- To create new architecture elements that are stored in the Architecture Management application, click Create Architecture Element.
