Configuring HCL AppScan Tester Edition Adapter
To run Test Execution Records containing HCL Security AppScan Tester Edition Test Scripts, you must configure an adapter to pass execution information from Engineering Test Management to HCL Security AppScan Tester Edition and vice versa. All external test tools use this method to accept requests to run, and to deliver results back to Engineering Test Management. For HCL Security AppScan Tester Edition, the adapter is located on the Engineering Test Management server itself.
Before you begin
- Ensure that Engineering Test Management server is started and that communication with the HCL AppScan Tester Edition server has been established before continuing.
- Ensure that each user belongs to each project area created in the Engineering Test Management
server, and have the
Register Tool Adapter
permission assigned to them. Otherwise, they will not be able to send data to Engineering Test Management, and the adapter will stop.
Procedure
- Log on to the server hosting Engineering Test Management.
- Run the adapter setup. This can be launched from the Start menu. Click . This utility will prompt you for connection information, such as the location of Engineering Test Management, and the account under which the adapter will run. The utility only needs to be run once. It will save an encrypted file containing connection information and used in subsequent launches of the adapter.
- Once the adapter setup has completed successfully, launch the adapter from the Start menu. Click .
- When the adapter has started successfully, test scripts can be executed from within Engineering Test Management.
- To stop the adapter, launch the Stop item from the Start menu. Click .
