Tracking test execution status by using the Execution Console
You can use the Execution Console to see an overview of test execution progress.
To open the Execution Console, in the main menu, click
.The Execution Console shows a list of execution requests with the current execution status for
each request. For more information, see Test execution states. By default, the
list is filtered to display items with selected statuses. You can update the status filter to change
the selection. You can also apply filter to the other columns. You can see the status of a test by pointing to the indicator bar in the
Status column. In addition, the indicator bar in the Test Case
Progress column shows the percentage that is complete for a test.
If you must track many test case execution records and test suite execution records, you can use the filtering and sorting capabilities to find specific records quickly. For example, you can filter the list by test plans, test cases, build records, and test schedules.
Note: The completed execution requests that are older than a week are removed from the execution
console table. A cleanup task runs at regular intervals to remove the old execution requests. You
can update the time interval between two runs if you have the JazzAdmins repository privileges. On
the application administration page in the Advanced Properties section, see
com.ibm.rqm.execution.service.internal.sync.AdapterRequestCleanupTask. By default, the delay
is set to 86400 seconds or in other words, the cleanup task runs once every day. To increase the
delay, edit the property Cleanup Task Fixed Delay.
Use the Execution Console for other tracking and monitoring tasks:
- Find the current state of the adapter for an automated test in the Health column of the table.
- Change the adapter that is used for a particular automated test, for example, if the current adapter is down or busy. To change adapters, select the automated tests in the table and then click the Edit Adapter icon.
- Change the owner of specific test executions by selecting the tests in the table and then clicking the Change icon in the Owner column.
