Enabling team areas and support for multiple timelines

Starting in version 4, you can subdivide your project areas into smaller teams and assign varying levels of access control to each team. You can also take advantage of support for multiple timelines.

About this task

Timelines, iterations, and team areas are features of the Jazz Foundation that are now supported in Engineering Test Management version 4. In a project area you can create one or more timelines that define how a period of time is partitioned into a hierarchy of iterations. With team areas, you can subdivide your project areas into smaller teams and assign varying permissions to different roles in each team.

Out of the box, Engineering Test Management enables the use of only one timeline per project area, and by default, there is no support for team areas. You can enable the use of multiple timelines and team areas in Project Properties. After you enable this setting, you can create additional timelines and assign them to either the project area or any team areas that you create.

Procedure

  1. In the application, click the Administration Administration icon, and then click Manage Project Properties.
  2. From the list of properties, click Team Areas and Timelines.
The graphic shows the Team Areas and Timelines page of the Project Properties.
  3. Select the Enable team areas and support for multiple timelines checkbox.
  4. Click Save.
