Typical review process

Test artifact reviews share a common process. You can customize the typical process depicted in this topic to suite your enterprise environment.

As part of this process, one team member creates a list of reviewers and approvers in the Formal Review section of the following test artifact types:

  • Test plans
  • Test cases
  • Test suites
  • Test scripts
  • Test case execution results
  • Test suite execution results

Each person on the review list receives a request in the My Reviews widget on their personal dashboard to complete the review. Team members can track the progress of the review and see which reviews have been completed and which are still outstanding. Optionally, your team can require that reviewers and approvers provide an electronic signature as proof that the review has been completed.

Note: By default, an approved test plan, test case, or test suite is no longer open for editing. If a user modifies and attempts to save an approved test artifact, the following message is displayed: Do not allow saving of an "Approved" or "Retired" artifact.
