Linking between project areas and DevOps Test Virtualization Server domains

Use the Jazz project administration interface to establish associations between Engineering Test Management project areas and DevOps Test Virtualization Server domains.

  • Establish cross-server communication and approve OAuth access requests.
  • Ensure that your web browser preferences are not set to block pop-up windows.
When Engineering Test Management project areas are associated with DevOps Test Virtualization Server domains, team members can use virtual services from DevOps Test Virtualization Server while they run test case execution records in Engineering Test Management.
  1. Log in to the Engineering Test Management administration application by using an account that has Jazz Administrator privileges.
    Use the context root value, which is like this example: https://fully qualified hostname:port/qm/admin.
  2. On the Application Administration page, click Project Areas > Active Project Areas.
  3. Click a project area from the Active Project Areas page that you want to create associations for.
  4. Scroll to the Associations section.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Add Association window, from the Application list, select the DevOps Test Virtualization Server application that you identified when you established cross-server communication by using Friends (Outbound).
  7. If you are prompted to do so, log in DevOps Test Virtualization Server as an administrator. Entries for the target server project areas are displayed in the Artifact Containers field. The artifact container corresponds to a project area on the selected server.
  8. In the Association field, select the Uses - Automation association.
  9. Click OK and then save the changes to the project area.
You can now associate virtual services from DevOps Test Virtualization Server with test case execution records in Engineering Test Management and use the services during testing.
