Track test artifacts and activities for auditing

You can view a history of test artifact events, types, and attribute changes. The history information that displays is based on the state of the test artifact when it was created, and all the changes made to it up to the current time. You can use this information for audit tracking. Having this information available is vital to any testing effort, because project managers can track testing status, and provide detailed audit information with no extra preparation.

You can view and print history for the following types of test artifacts:
  • Test plans
  • Test cases
  • Test scripts
  • Execution results
  • Requirements
Updates to the fields in the test artifacts are recorded in the history. The following list gives an example of the type of information that is recorded:
  • Modified date and time
  • Name of the person who made the update
  • Risk updates
  • Added content
  • Deleted and changed content
  • Changes to keywords
Note: The earliest Modified date that appears in the history is the date that the test artifact was created. The most recent events display in the page.

To view the history of a test artifact, open the artifact (for example, a test plan or test case) and click History, located under the list of sections.
