Linking test artifacts to requirements and development artifacts by using the copy-and-paste method
You can link test artifacts with other artifacts across IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Management , applications by using the copy-and-paste method. When you link the artifacts, OSLC links are created between the artifacts in the Engineering Lifecycle Management applications.
Before you begin
- The project areas in the ELM applications must be associated with each other for link creation. For more information, see Engineering Lifecycle Management and Running the setup wizard.
- Select the Allow linking between test script steps and requirements checkbox in the section.
- Select the Allow linking between test items and test case results and Allow linking between test items and manual step results checkboxes in the section.
About this task
You can link test artifacts within a test artifact editor or test artifact list view by using the
copy-and-paste method. You can also use this method to link test artifacts to work items in IBM Engineering Workflow Management , or requirements in IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® Next
,, or architecture elements in IBM Rhapsody® Model Manager.
Restriction:
- You cannot use the copy-and-paste method to copy test case result steps or test script steps and paste into other artifacts. However, you can copy work items from Engineering Workflow Management and paste into test case result steps. Also, you can copy requirements from DOORS Next and paste into test script steps.
- The copy-and-paste method is supported for associated project areas when the connection is active. The method cannot be used when you are not authenticated or the session is timed out. To establish a connection, use the appropriate option from the menu and log in to the server of the associated project area. For example, to connect to DOORS Next, select Requirements from the menu and log in.
Attention: To use the copy-and-paste method to link artifacts, you must register
the same email ID across Jazz® Team Servers.
Artifacts that can be linked by using the copy-and-paste method are described in the following
table:
