This section describes how to administer and customize Engineering Test Management project areas.

Configuring IBM Engineering Test Management project areas
The Jazz process controls the behavior of Engineering Test Management projects. By configuring the process, you can set up team areas and customize workflows, timelines, operation behavior, and roles at both the overall project and team area levels. You can also customize the main menu by selecting which menu items or categories to show and hide.
Configuring advanced server properties in Engineering Test Management
You can change advanced server configuration properties by using the Administration page of the Engineering Test Management application or the Administration page of the Jazz® Team Server.
Managing project properties in a Engineering Test Management project
If you are a project administrator, you can configure several aspects of IBM® Engineering Test Management project areas from the Manage Project Properties window by clicking the Administration () icon on the banner and selecting Manage Project Properties.
Using custom execution adapter types
After you configure a Engineering Test Management custom execution adapter, you can incorporate it into custom test script types.
Permanently deleting sensitive data
You can remove sensitive data from the IBM Engineering Test Management application. Scrub these items to recover from data spills and to remove information that is now confidential but wasn't before, or to delete information that shouldn't be revealed to a wider audience. Information is permanently deleted from the application and cannot be recovered.
Asynchronous migration
Asynchronous migration is a background process that runs after an upgraded Engineering Test Management server is started. The migration execution is asynchronous and does not prevent the server from working or users from performing normal activities while the migration runs.
Analyzing and validating TRS feeds
You can view the list of resources that were skipped from theEngineering Test Management data source in Lifecycle Query Engine and validate TRS feeds. On the TRS Feed Diagnostics > Validation page, you can validate whether the TRS feed contains the same artifacts as the application repository and lists any additional or missing artifact.
Administering components and configurations in Engineering Lifecycle Management applications
As a configuration lead or application administrator, you complete the tasks that are related to managing components and local configurations for your team. These tasks are common to the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management applications in which you enable configuration management.
Administering components in the Engineering Test Management application
In projects that are enabled for configuration management, as a team member with configuration management permissions, you can complete the tasks that are related to managing components for your project.
Cloning test artifacts
Reorganize how artifacts are grouped in your project area by cloning them from one component into another. When you clone an artifact, a new version is added to the stream of the component that you work in. To avoid adding extra artifacts to stream, when you clone a duplicate artifact, the system does not clone its source artifact.
Referenced artifacts when cloning in the Engineering Test Management application
When you clone an artifact in the Engineering Test Management application, the system also clones any referenced artifacts. The dependent artifacts, which were archived are also cloned in the new component stream because when a referenced artifact is archived or deleted, its reference remains. The cloned archived artifacts are also in archived state in the new component stream.
