By default, approved test artifacts can no longer be edited and saved. You can remove
this restriction via the project area's process configuration.
Before you begin
You must be logged on as a user with JazzAdmins repository group permissions.
Procedure
-
In the web client, log in as a user who has the appropriate permission to save project areas.
This can be any one of the following:
- A user granted permission to save the project area in the process configuration.
- A user who is an administrator of the project area.
- A user who is granted either the JazzProjectAdmins or JazzAdmins repository group
permissions.
-
Navigate to the Project Areas page of the administrative web interface.
See Logging in for project
administrators and team leads for details.
For example, in the Engineering Test Management application, click the Administration
() icon and click Manage This
Project Area.
-
In the navigation pane, click Preconditions & Follow-up
Actions.
-
In the list of operations, find the save operation for a particular test artifact, such as
Save Test Case.
The Who column shows the user role to which the operational behavior
will be applied.
-
In the Action column, click the Edit
Configuration icon.
Note: In the operation behavior editor, you can verify and change the user role to which any
preconditions will be applied.
-
By default, the Disallow Saving of Test Cases with State Approved or
Retired is included in the list of preconditions. Select the precondition; then click
the Remove icon.
Note: The Disallow Saving of Test Cases with State Approved or
Retired precondition does not apply to formal reviews. By default, you can edit, save,
and add new approval groups to approved test artifacts in the formal review section. Users can
modify an approval or review as long as the approval group is not archived. If you want to change
the default for the formal review section, set the Disallow Saving of Test Cases with
State Approved or Retired precondition in the Save Formal Review
operation.
See
Planning the review process for more
information.
-
Click Save.
-
As needed, repeat steps 4 through 7 for the save operations of other test artifact
types.
Results
Users are able to edit and save an approved test artifact when the Disallow
Saving of Test Cases with State Approved or Retired precondition has been removed.
