Using the Rhapsody Model Manager web interface

Rhapsody Model Manager includes a web interface that can be used to explore Rhapsody models that have been enabled for Rhapsody Model Manager. This includes navigation to any remote requirements that were linked to Rhapsody model elements.

To view your Rhapsody models in the Rhapsody Model Manager web interface:

  1. In your browser, navigate to https://<server>:<port>/ccm/web
  2. Click the name of your project area.
  3. From the main menu, select Designs > Explorer.
Note: The menu in the Explorer page includes options called Add Components and Remove Components. These options do not add components to or remove components from the project area. Rather, they are used to add or remove components from the list of components that are displayed.
  4. Check whether the component that you are looking for is included in the list of displayed components. If not, click the Add Components menu option, and use the search controls to find the component and add it to the list of displayed components. Use * if you want the search to return all of the components in the project area. The search results display up to 25 components. You can use the Next and Previous buttons to page through the search results. Alternatively, click the left-arrow to go to the previous page and right-arrow to go the next page. You can also use the pagination option to browse through the search results available on each page. You can click ellipsis (…) to toggle between the previous or next result sets of components.
Note: If a project area contains many components, you will not see that any components listed the first time that you access the Explorer page for the project area. Use the Add Components option to add one or more components to the list. On subsequent visits to the Explorer page, you will see the components that were previously added to the list.
  5. Expand a component. The Rhapsody models in that component are listed.

Features of the model explorer

  • For each model element, you can view the element details by clicking the element name or hovering over it.
Note: On the element details page, the element description is displayed as plain text even if formatting or links have been added to the description in Rhapsody.
  • On the element details page, the Relations section displays the relationships between the element and other model elements, similar to the Relations tab of the Features window in Rhapsody.
Note: Currently, the Relations section displays only dependency relationships.
  • On both the main explorer page and the element details page, element labels are displayed instead of element names if you have enabled Label mode for the project area (see Enabling Label Mode for a project area).
  • To view links to artifacts for an element, click the element.
  • Once a link is visible, you can click the link to navigate to the artifact in the relevant application.
Note: If your model contains model elements (editable elements or reference elements) that belong to a different project area, you will only see the element details if the project area that the element belongs to is part of the same Global Configuration as the model itself. Otherwise, the element is displayed as unresolved.

Display individual elements as highest-level nodes in web interface

For situations where a Rhapsody unit is part of a Engineering Workflow Management component but the model that uses that unit is not part of the same component, there is a mechanism that can be used to have the unit that is displayed as a highest-level node in the web interface.

To have a unit shown as a highest-level node in the web interface:

  1. Open the model that contains the unit in Rhapsody.
  2. Locate the unit, and open the Features window.
  3. Set the value of the property Model::Unit::RMMTopNode to True.
