Connecting to the Publishing Document Builder component

Configure the remote services preferences of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing to connect to the Publishing Document Builder component.

Before you begin

Review the list of limitations.
Deploy Publishing Document Builder on the IBM WebSphere® Liberty servers. For more information, see, Deployment of Publishing Document Builder on IBM WebSphere Liberty.
Configure users and authentication for Publishing Document Builder.
Tip: You need the username and password of a user with the pub_report_designer or pub_admin user role to authenticate with Publishing Document Builder.
Configure at least 4 or more license key per user on a Setting up licenses. To determine the number of license keys required, see the License restriction topic.
Specify the TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE environment variable to your license server path. Example: port_number@hostname. For more details, see Verifying the TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE environment variable topic.

Procedure

Optional: If you don't have any resources in Publishing Document Builder, report designers can generate the ready-to-use resources for Publishing Document Builder, and administrators can generate even more sample resources:
1. Open Publishing Document Builder in a browser at: http://server:port/rpeng
2. Specify the username and password to authenticate with the Publishing Document Builder.
  
  Remember: The username and password depend on the user credentials that are configured and mapped to the pub_report_designer or pub_admin user roles. See the links on configuring users and authentication for Publishing Document Builder.
3. In the Publishing Document Builder, click Resources tab.
4. In the Resources tab, click Click here to generate the ready-to-use resources or Click here to generate sample resources (admins only).
Set the Publishing Document Builder URL in the Remote Services preference:
1. In Document Studio, click Window > Preferences > PUB > Remote Services.
2. Under the PUB Document Builder section, enter the URL and credentials to the Publishing Document Builder component. URL example: http://server:port/rpeng
  
  Note:
  If Publishing Document Builder is configured with Jazz® Team Server using Jazz Authorization Server (JAS), use application password in the Password field.
3. Click OK to save the changes to the preference.
Load the PUB Central Library:
1. In Document Studio, select File > Open Document Template.
2. In the Template Selection window, click Load from Library.
3. You can select multiple templates from the Central Library by pressing the Ctrl key, and then click Add Selected > OK.
4. In Document Studio, your selected template opens in the editor.
