Milestone 12

Enable host header validation with a new configuration flag
You can now validate the host header in Engineering Publishing by setting the com.ibm.elm.allowed_host_name configuration flag. This setting restricts incoming HTTP requests to trusted hostnames and optional ports, helping prevent injection attacks, cache-based attacks, and redirect-based exploits. For more information, see Enabling host header validation.

Milestone 11

Common changes in Engineering Publishing
Add images to cell comments in Microsoft Excel output

You can now include images in cell comments in the Microsoft Excel output generated by Publishing Document Builder.

Previously, inserting images directly into cells could obscure nearby content and disrupt the layout. With this update, images appear as cell comments, preserving the spreadsheet structure and improving readability.

To add image to cell comments, select the Microsoft Excel output format and set the Image Placement property to In Comment.

Add tables to cell comments in Microsoft Excel output

You can now include tables in cell comments in the Microsoft Excel output that is generated by Publishing Document Builder.

Previously, inserting tables directly into cells could obscure nearby content and disrupt the layout. With this update, tables appear as cell comments, preserving the spreadsheet structure and improving readability.

To add table to cell comments, select the Microsoft Excel output format and set the Table Placement property to In Comment.

Changes in Publishing Document Builder
Improved authentication security in Publishing Document Builder

To enhance security, all authentication is now handled through Jazz Team Server (JTS). Starting in version 7.2, container authentication is no longer supported in Publishing Document Builder. If your application previously used container authentication, it automatically switches to JTS authentication.

No manual action is required for the switch. However, you must register the application with JTS before using Publishing Document Builder. This update improves security by eliminating default, preconfigured users, and enabling integration with JTS-based user management for enhanced access control and auditing.

Improved log file download

You can now download log files using a new backend API. Files up to 10 MB are supported. If a file exceeds this limit, the UI displays a message that directs you to the rpdgaas log file.

This update improves performance and helps prevent issues such as timeouts and slow response times during downloads.

Previously, excessive logging caused errors during downloads because all backend data was sent to the frontend for processing. The new API streamlines the process and reduces the download failures.

Updated input controls for report generation
  1. Boolean values now appear as check boxes.
  2. Dropdown lists support both single and multiple selections.
  3. A filter field helps narrow down available options.
Customize themes in Publishing Document Builder

You can now change the look and feel of the Publishing Document Builder interface by using themes with custom CSS, HTML, and JavaScript code. You can upload, preview, activate, and delete themes for all users on the server. For more information, see Managing themes.
