Lesson 1: Create a template

In the Document Studio application, create a template to be used as the structure for your report.

About this task

Procedure

  1. In the Document Studio application, click File > New > Document template.
    A blank template opens and you can begin dragging elements from the Palette view into the template content editor.
  2. Click File > Save as to save the template to your computer.
  3. Select a location to save the template and name it configLayerModule1.dta.

Results

Result:
To verify the template after completing this task,
  1. Click Document Specification > Generate > Generate Document. Because there are no variables or data sources to configure, you can generate the document-style report without clicking Configure and Generate Document and completing the document-style report generation wizard.
  2. In the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Results window, select one of the outputs.
