DOORS data source properties reference

Open the Properties view in the Launcher application and select a IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS data source. The Properties view shows the available properties for DOORS data sources.

Type Value Description
Name String The title of the schema as entered in Document Studio. You cannot edit this field in this view.
Description String The explanation of how the schema is used as entered in Document Studio. You cannot edit this field in this view.
Type DOORS The schema type. You cannot edit this field in this view.
Configuration required none, uri, credentials, full, hidden Default value: uri

You cannot edit this value in this view. Property set in the template, which specifies which configurations are necessary for starting the document-style report generation.

Restriction: New feature icon The Configuration required property is available only in version 2 templates.
  • none: No configuration is required from the report generator. If a data source is not configured, no warnings display at run time.
  • uri: Only the data source is needed to be configured to generate the document-style report.
  • credentials: Only the credentials to authenticate with the data provider are required to generate the document-style report.
  • full: The data source must be configured and credentials must be given to generate the document-style report.
  • hidden: The data source does not display in the Launcher so that the template settings cannot be overridden.
Important: When only usernames are required for authentication and passwords are not required, do not use full or credentials

For more information about how usernames and passwords are stored, see Security considerations for IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing.

Driver eval Required. You cannot edit this field.
Default URI File path The path to the data source to use if a value for the URI property is not configured or accessible. If a value is provided for the Default URI, the data source displays as configured.
Allow read ahead true, false When set to true, document-style reports are permitted to be generated as configured by the Data read ahead run time metadata property, which determines the order that data sources are processed.

For DOORS, even when Allow read ahead is set to true, only one data source is handled at a time. The only scenario when two data sources are handled at a time is when the Data read ahead property is set to true in a document specification and at least one data source in the template has Allow read ahead set to true.

Note: Do not set Allow read ahead to true if a template includes native filters that have variable calculations for a data source.
URI File path The path to the data source resource.
Module_id Number Optional. The numeric identification of the module. The URI property takes precedence over the Module_id property.
DOORS_home File path Required. Path to the DOORS executable file. Example: C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.2\bin\doors.exe
DOORS_param String Required. The DOORS database. A localhost entry refers to a DOORS database located on the server. Example: -data 36677@localhost
Username String Username to log in into the data source application. If there are authentication errors during document-style report generation and the Data request retry count property is configured, the document-style report generation continues. If the retries are unsuccessful or the Data request retry count property is not configured, the document-style report generation ends. See Runtime metadata properties reference for more information about the Data request retry count property.
Password String Password to log in into the data source application. If there are authentication errors during document-style report generation and the Data request retry count property is configured, the document-style report generation continues. If the retries are unsuccessful or the Data request retry count property is not configured, the document-style report generation ends. See Runtime metadata properties reference for more information about the Data request retry count property.
Baseline Current, String Optional. Default value: Current

A preserved, read-only version of the DOORS module. If the value is incorrect, the output is generated from the current module version.

You can use baseline sets to define baselines for linked modules.

View Standard, Current, String Optional. The name of the view in DOORS to use. If the value is incorrect or null, the output is generated from the standard view.
Stop if view or baseline are unavailable true, false Required. Default value: false

Set to true to cancel a document-style report generation when the baseline or view property values for the selected module cannot be accessed. If set to true and a View is not specified, the document-style report generation is not canceled and uses the standard view.

Set to false to continue with the document-style report generation when the baseline or view property values for the selected module cannot be accessed and use the default values for those properties instead.

New_instance true, false Required. Default value: false

The run mode of the DOORS client. Set to true if DOORS is running from the command line in the background or if DOORS is not running in the background. Set to false when DOORS client is running in the background.

Command String A script to run when the output is generated.
Ignored true, false Default value: false

Set to true to exclude a template from generating when you are running multiple templates from one document specification.
