Shortcuts for Engineering Publishing

Review this list of common keyboard shortcuts available for you to use within the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Studio application or the Launcher application. You can view a complete list of shortcuts, including shortcuts for this product and any Eclipse-based application, by clicking Window > Preferences > General > Keys.

Document Studio keyboard shortcuts

Key combination Function
Alt+F7 Open a list of available editor tabs to switch to, including the template content editor, the zoom editor, and master page tabs. The focus must be in one of these tabs before entering the key combination.
Alt+PageDown Switch between the template content editor, the zoom editor, and master page tabs in that order. The focus must be in one of these tabs before entering the key combination.
Note: The JAWS screen reader also has a function for this keyboard shortcut combination. To enable the keyboard shortcut combination for Engineering Publishing while JAWS is running, change the keyboard shortcut combination for JAWS.
Alt+PageUp Return to the previous tab after switching between the template content editor, the zoom editor, and master page tabs. The focus must be in one of these tabs before entering the key combination.
Note: The JAWS screen reader also has a function for this keyboard shortcut combination. To enable the keyboard shortcut combination for Engineering Publishing while JAWS is running, change the keyboard shortcut combination for JAWS.

Ctrl+3 Open a list of recent actions to choose to complete again.
Ctrl+ Zoom in to the template editor
Ctrl- Zoom out of the template editor.
Ctrl0 Reset the zoom back to 100% in the template editor.
Ctrl+A Select all. For example, use this key combination to select all elements in the template content editor.
Ctrl+B Set the Formatting > Font > Bold property to true.
Ctrl+C Copy a selection in the template editor. You can also use Ctrl+Insert to perform the same action.
Ctrl+D Open the window for creating a document specification.
Ctrl+F4 Close document template. You can also use Ctrl+W to perform the same action.
Ctrl+F7 Switch between the open Document Studio views, such as the Properties, Data Source Schemas, and Outline views.
Ctrl+F8 Switch to the Launcher perspective.
Ctrl+H Open the Search window.
Ctrl+I Set the Formatting > Font > Italic property to true.
Ctrl+L Open the color selection window to select a color value for the Formatting > Font > Font Color property.
Ctrl+M Maximize or minimize the active view or template editor.
Ctrl+N Open the window to create a document-style report, such as a document template.
Ctrl+R Open the Results dialog window.
Ctrl+S Save document template.
Ctrl+T Opens a window to select a template to load.
Ctrl+U Set the Formatting > Font > Underline property to true.
Ctrl+V Paste a selection into the template editor. You can also use Shift+Insert to perform the same action.
Ctrl+W Close the document template. You can also use Ctrl+F4 to perform the same action.
Ctrl+X Cut a selection from the template editor. You can also use Ctrl+Delete to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Y Redo the last action that was undone.
Ctrl+Z Undo the last action.
Ctrl+. Moves the cursor to the next annotation.
Ctrl+, Moves the cursor to the previous annotation.
Ctrl+Delete Cut a selection from the template editor. You can also use Ctrl+X to perform the same action.
Ctrl+End Move the cursor to the end of a line of text. You can also use End to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Home Move the cursor to the start of the next line of text. You can also use Home to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Insert Copy a selection in the template editor. You can also use Ctrl+C to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Left Move the cursor to the previous word in line of text.
Ctrl+Right Move the cursor to the next word in line of text.
Ctrl+Alt+G Intended to create new workspaces in Eclipse, however, there is only one workspace available in PUB.
Ctrl+Alt+R Open the Remote Results dialog window.
Ctrl+Shift+1 Select a Paragraph element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+2 Select a Container element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+3 Select a Text element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+4 Select a Styled Text element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+5 Select a Hyperlink element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+6 Select an Image element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+7 Select a Table element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+8 Select a Row element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+9 Select a Cell element from the Palette view to be placed into the template content editor.
Ctrl+Shift+F4 Close all document templates. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+W to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Shift+F7 Return to the previous open Document Studio view you switched from, such as the Properties, Data Source Schema, or Outline views.
Ctrl+Shift+F8 Return to the previous perspective.
Ctrl+Shift+G Generate a document-style report.
Ctrl+Shift+Left Select the previous word in a line of text.
Ctrl+Shift+P Preview a document-style report.
Ctrl+Shift+Right Select the next word in a line of text.
Ctrl+Shift+W Close all document templates. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+F4 to perform the same action.
Shift+End Select text from the current location of the cursor to the end of the line.
Shift+Home Select text from the beginning of a line of text to the current location of the cursor.
Shift+Insert Paste a selection into the template editor. Paste a selection into the template editor. You can also use Ctrl+V to perform the same action.
Delete Delete a selection from the template editor.
End Move the cursor to the end of a line of text. You can also use Ctrl+End to perform the same action.
Esc Return your cursor from a selected element. This is the same as clicking the Select tool in the Palette view in the user interface.
F12 Move the focus to the template content editor.
Home Move the cursor to the start of the next line of text. You can also use Ctrl+Home to perform the same action.

Launcher keyboard shortcuts

Ctrl+D Opens the window to select and load a document specification.
Ctrl+O Opens a window to select a document specification to load.
Ctrl+F4 Close the document specification. You can also use Ctrl+W to perform the same action.
Ctrl+F7 Switch between the open Launcher views, such as the Properties and Console views.
Ctrl+F8 Switch to the Document Studio perspective.
Ctrl+N Open the window to create a document, such as a document specification.
Ctrl+R Open the Results dialog window.
Ctrl+S Save document specification.
Ctrl+W Close document specification. You can also use Ctrl+F4 to perform the same action.
Ctrl+Y Redo the last action that was undone.
Ctrl+Z Undo the last action.
