The tailoring editor
The tailoring process editor is the main tool for customizing
delivery processes to suit the needs of a particular project.
The tailoring process editor has more capabilities than the process
editor. You can perform the following tasks:
- Directly edit work breakdown structures, work product, and role usage
- Show how elements are used in the process
- Use extended element suppression capabilities
Tab functions
The editor contains the following tabs:
- Description: This tab provides access to several descriptive
fields that are related to the tailoring process. Fields that have Rich text editor icon
next
to them can be edited with additional formatting options. - Consolidated WBS: This tab provides a hierarchical view
of all work breakdown structure elements. You can expand tasks to
show the list of related work products and roles, and to perform the
following actions:
- Suppress elements, or remove suppression from elements
- Add or delete elements
- Change the relationship type between elements
- Change the name of elements
- Change the order of elements
- Change the indirect predecessors of an element
- Copy or paste an element within the editor
- Drag an element within the editor
- Use the Roll Up feature to aggregate the involved tasks on any level
- Find the source of an element
- Team Allocation: This tab is like the Consolidated WBS tab, but below the activity level it only contains the involved roles. The Roll Up feature allows you to aggregate the involved roles on any level.
- Work Product Usage: This tab functions analogously to the Team Allocation tab. The Roll Up feature allows you to aggregate work products used as input and output on any level of the Work Breakdown Structure.
