Resolving data spill by removing sensitive data from Engineering Insights
Data spill is sensitive data or information that is not meant for a wider audience.
About this task
Only administrators can remove sensitive data from the labels.
To remove sensitive data from IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization Engineering Insights views, you must follow the data spill procedure for one or more of the affected IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management applications:
- Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® Next - Deleting artifacts from the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next repository
- Engineering Workflow Management - Deleting work items in the web client, Deleting work items in the Eclipse client
- Engineering Test Management - Permanently deleting sensitive Engineering Test Management data, Deleting test artifacts.
- Global Configuration Management (GCM) - Finding sensitive data and data spills in global configurations and components, Deleting sensitive data from global configurations and components
For example, if some requirements contain sensitive information, you must follow the IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS data spill procedure and the LQE procedure to remove the sensitive information from the index. After you complete the procedure, the sensitive data is no longer available in the Engineering Insights views, impact analysis diagrams, or search results.
In Engineering Insights, sensitive data can come up in view names, view descriptions, container labels, other text in views, impact analysis diagram names, conditions, and profiles.
You cannot search for this kind of information in Engineering Insights. Therefore, you must examine each view and impact analysis diagram to remove the sensitive information from labels.
