To edit an existing style, you can use the overwrite style option. When you overwrite the
style, you can edit the existing style and add more node definitions. For example, if you want to
construct a view based on the existing style with more formatting node definitions, you can
overwrite the existing style. You can modify the node definitions as required. It saves your time to
format a node from scratch and enhances the view building experience.
About this task
In the following steps, you use the View styles window to overwrite the
style.
Procedure

Open the view in edit mode.
- Click the Create style icon.
- In the View style window, select the Overwrite existing
style option.
- Select the style that you want to overwrite and click Ok.
The application displays the following message:
Style overwritten
successfully.
After you overwrite the style, you can edit the node definitions, and
then save the changes to the existing style.
You can also overwrite the style by using the
Overwrite style icon that is available next to the Style
name field in the Properties pane of the view.

- Click Save to save the view with the style that you
overwritten.
Results
The style is overwritten with the view formatting.
