Lesson 5: Use the view to focus on specific artifacts
In this lesson, you select a specific artifact in the complex Traceability: feature - test environment view, and you explore the related artifacts. To determine what artifacts are related to a specific test environment, you run dependency analysis in the view.
- Open the view.
- Select a specific feature, and explore the related artifacts.
To focus on the high difficulty feature Dividend allocation by percentage feature, click the node. The link to the related artifact, and the related artifact are highlighted in orange.In the view mode, select the checkbox in the Dividend allocation by percentage node, and the selected node is highlighted. The nodes that are not selected are disabled. The link to the related QM Test Case, and the related QM Test Case node are traced with a bold line, and can be easily identified.
Select the related QM Test Case artifact.
In the complex view, the related QM Test Result artifacts are not visible on the page. You must scroll down to find them. To easily link to the related QM Test Results, right-click the QM Test Case artifact, and click . The names of related QM Test Result artifacts are displayed. Select an artifact.
Select all the linked QM Test Results, and QM Test Environment nodes,
and click to keep only the selected artifacts in the view.
Only the selected artifacts are now shown in the view.
Click Reset to restore the original view.
Select a QM Test Environment node, and run dependency analysis to
discover all the related upstream artifacts.
The view shows all the artifacts that are associated with the selected QM Test Environment node.
- Select Firefox_DB2_WAS_Windows.
to explore all the related upstream artifacts.
Save a copy of the selected artifacts and the relationships among them by clicking
Save view snapshot.
- Enter a view snapshot name in the dialog box, save the view snapshot as public, and then
click OK. The view snapshot is saved as a child of the original view in the
My views or Shared views folder.
