You can now deploy Engineering Lifecycle Management applications with Oracle 26ai to take advantage of the latest database features and security updates.

Support for Java 21
Engineering Lifecycle Management now compiles with the Java 21 (LTS) compiler. This upgrade delivers modern language features, performance improvements, security enhancements, API updates, improved tooling support, long-term support, ecosystem alignment, increased developer productivity, and future-proofing. Team-based Read Access Control for test artifacts in non-configuration-enabled projects

Project administrators can now enable Read Access Control (RAC) for test artifacts in Engineering Test Management project areas that do not use configuration management. This enhancement allows restricting read access to team area members without affecting existing access control settings. Once enabled, this change is permanent and prevents future enablement of baselines or full configuration management. For more information, see Enabling read access control using team areas.

Support for Db2 LUW 12.1.x

Engineering Lifecycle Management now supports Db2 LUW 12.1.x, ensuring compatibility with current Db2 releases.

Copying team area membership
You can now copy membership from an existing team area when you create a team area. This enhancement reduces administrative effort and ensures consistency across teams in the same project area. Key benefits are:
  • Reuse existing team area memberships instead of manually adding members
  • Only members not already in the target team area are added
  • No duplicate users are created
  • Existing members and their roles remain unchanged
  • Role assignments are not copied from the source team area
  • No configuration or migration required

Enhanced Cryptographic Security with FIPS‑140‑3 Support

FIPS 140-3 support is now available in Engineering Lifecycle Management deployments that run on Open Liberty with IBM Semeru Runtime. When you enable FIPS‑140‑3, the platform uses the IBMJCEPlusFIPS cryptographic module to enforce FIPS‑approved algorithms and stronger TLS configurations. This feature helps you meet strict regulatory and security compliance requirements and improves your overall cryptographic security posture.

AutoGather - Enhanced diagnostic collection tool
AutoGather is a Java application that replaces IBM Support Assistant Data Collector (ISADC) for collecting comprehensive diagnostic information from Engineering Lifecycle Management applications. It automates the collection of logs, javacores, verbose garbage collection logs, and live server data for IBM Support cases. Key capabilities are:
  • Three collection modes: Normal (on-server, full diagnostics), Remote (centralized collection), and Anonymous (minimal configuration)
  • Automated debug logging with automatic reversion after collection
  • Timed and burst collection with configurable intervals
  • Enhanced performance must gather automation, especially for DOORS Next
  • Packages all diagnostics into a single compressed file for easy upload

AutoGather collects more detailed diagnostic data than ISADC and is useful for automating performance troubleshooting workflows. For more information, see AutoGather overview.

Milestone 3

TRS Feed Enhancement: Simplified User Experience
The GCM TRS Feed now differentiates between two elements labeled "Id", a user-facing identifier and an internal system universally unique identifier (UUID) used for internal processing. To avoid user confusion and improve reporting clarity, the oslc:hidden property is added to the internal UUID element.

With this change, reporting tools such as Lifecycle Query Engine, Link Index Provider, and Report Builder automatically hide the internal UUID from user interfaces and reports. The UUID remains available for internal processing and system operations.
