Referenced artifacts when cloning in the Engineering Test Management application
When you clone an artifact in the Engineering Test Management application, the system also clones any referenced artifacts. The dependent artifacts, which were archived are also cloned in the new component stream because when a referenced artifact is archived or deleted, its reference remains. The cloned archived artifacts are also in archived state in the new component stream.
For each artifact type, which is referenced by an artifact that you clone, the following table shows the additional artifact types that the system clones. To exclude test case and test suite results when you clone artifacts, set the corresponding configuration management preference. You can exclude them if the test results from one baseline are not important in another stream.
To reduce the number of unwanted artifacts in a stream, when you clone an artifact that is a
duplicate or copy, the Engineering Test Management application does not clone Copied From
or Copy Root
artifacts. To show these artifacts, add the corresponding column in a list view, or see the Copies
section in an artifact view.
