Verifying DOORS Next

After a successful server rename operation, and after you complete the steps in the server rename verification wizard, you perform a final verification of the DOORS® Next application.

Important: After a successful server rename operation, you must restart the Eclipse client to see updated links to Engineering Test Management and IBM® DOORS Next artifacts in work items.
  • Navigate to the DOORS Next web application via /rm/web and validate that dashboard/recent feeds load with no errors. Validate that a recent feed artifact URL points to the new server URL and rich hover is working.
  • On an existing project, click the Show Artifacts link beneath the project name. This takes you to the Artifacts page where you can validate if the Folders and Views display correctly. The field type to filter by text is visible.
    • For version 6.0.2 and earlier, validate that project views display properly (Views, "Filter by" section, and Recent artifact views).
    • For version 6.0.3 and later, validate that project views display properly (Views, and "Filter by" section).
      Tip: The Recent artifact views are no longer available in V6.0.3 or later.
    • Validate that artifact URLs in these views have renamed URLs.
    • Validate that the folder tree exists and can be navigated without errors.
    • Click the Review sidebar and open a review. Validate that you can navigate to the artifacts within a review and that user URLs are correct.
  • Validate that artifact content can be created and edited in existing projects. (Perform this task after read-only mode is disabled.)
  • On an existing LPA project, Open a text artifact. Validate links to Engineering Workflow Management or Engineering Test Management in the Links sidebar. Confirm that they contain new server URLs and that rich hover is displayed. Validate that any IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management links within rich text are updated to reflect new URLs. Validate that new Engineering Lifecycle Management links can be created. (Perform this task after read-only mode is disabled.)
  • Open an DOORS application artifact, such as a sketch or a use case diagram. Validate that an image of the diagram appears in read-only mode. Click the Edit button and validate that you can edit these artifacts. (Perform this task after read-only mode is disabled.)
  • Validate Reporting. Confirm that the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next ETLs (data collection jobs) run without errors.
  • On an existing project, click the Modules tab and select Browse Modules.
    • Open an existing module and validate that the content appears correctly.
    • Validate that artifacts within a module and embedded artifacts appear correctly and that you can navigate to these artifacts without error.
  • Validate Collection Artifacts.
