Viewing the history of a configuration
Show history to understand and explore the relationships between and properties for streams and baselines of a component. History results show all configurations of a component. You can show history from a component or a configuration. If you show history from a configuration, it is preselected in the history results.
About this task
Viewing the history of a configuration or component can help teams to see when a new stream or baseline was derived from a configuration, and to view the state of a configuration when it was derived. Find configurations in specific past states by using the segmented buttons in the toolbar to expand events, and then searching for events (date, username, event) by pressing Ctrl+F.
For example, you open the history for a component, called Car, which was the first product offering. Other cars were derived from Car, such as SuperCar, LuxuryCar, EconomyCar, and SportsCar. Each of these cars has streams and baselines, and many past states, too. The history graph is dense, and all you need to find is a baseline of Car, created by Pete on February 20, 2016. You can expand all configurations and events, and then search (Ctrl+F) the page for Pete or Feb 20, 2016.
