Installing interim fixes on Engineering Lifecycle Management server

Refer to the following instructions for installing interim fixes on Engineering Lifecycle Management server.

Before you begin

Before you install the server file, verify that no other interim fixes are installed. If other fixes are installed, contact IBM Software Support.

About this task

The Engineering Lifecycle Management server file might contain fixes for either a subset or all of these applications: Jazz® Team Server, Engineering Workflow Management, Engineering Test Management, IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® Next, IBM Rhapsody® Model Manager, and IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization Engineering Insights.
Note: The Engineering Lifecycle Management server file is ELM_server_patch_7.0.3.0-iFix015-ELM703M-I20250418-1356.zip in the latest interim fix.

For a Engineering Lifecycle Management deployment on single server, follow these steps. For a distributed Engineering Lifecycle Management deployment, follow these steps on each server.

Procedure

  1. Stop the Engineering Lifecycle Management server.
  2. Verify whether the following directory exists, <server_installation_directory>/server/patch.
    • If the directory exists, take a back up, and then remove its contents.
    • If the directory doesn't exist, create it.
  3. Copy the server file into the /server/patch directory.
  4. Clear the application server cache.
  5. Start the Engineering Lifecycle Management server.
  6. Run repotools-<app> -clean for each application to clear the repotools cache.
    • - repotools-ccm -clean
    • - repotools-gc -clean
    • - repotools-jts -clean
    • - repotools-qm -clean
    • - repotools-relm -clean
    • - repotools-rm -clean
    • - repotools-dcc -clean
    For a distributed Engineering Lifecycle Management deployment, complete the previous steps on each server.

What to do next

To validate that the server is successfully installed or uninstalled, follow these steps:
  1. After the server starts, open an Engineering Lifecycle Management application.
  2. Click Help > About the Server.
  3. In the Build Information section, review the interim fix information to confirm that it is either installed or uninstalled.
