Configuring Lifecycle Query Engine for Japanese text searches

Text searches on data that is in Japanese might return invalid or incomplete results if the Lifecycle Query Engine server default language is not Japanese.

Problem

If you are using Lifecycle Query Engine on a server for which the default language is not Japanese, and data that you are indexing is Japanese, you might encounter issues when you are performing full text searches. The results might be invalid or incomplete.

Solution

For Japanese text searches to work properly, the Lifecycle Query Engine server must be configured to work with Japanese data providers, and all the data providers that are connected to the server must be in Japanese. You cannot have a mix of Japanese and non-Japanese data providers.

As the administrator, you can configure the Lifecycle Query Engine server by completing the following steps:
  1. In the Lifecycle Query Engine Administration page navigation, under Configuration, click Advanced Properties.
  2. Click Show Internal and in the warning, click OK.
  3. In the Internal Properties Configuration section, click Edit.
  4. In the Text Index Language field, enter ja and click Save.
  5. Restart Lifecycle Query Engine.
  6. Reindex the data providers.
