Changing the database password

As an administrator, you must periodically change the database password.

About this task

This task also applies to the Link Index Provider.

1. Shut down the server.
2. Go to the <LQE_Install_Dir>/server/conf/lqe/dbconnection.properties file, and find the db.password property.
3. Edit the property to set the new password: db.password=new_password

   Example: db.password=lqeDBpassword

4. Save the dbconnection.properties file.
5. Start the server.

Results

After the change, the new database password is encrypted by using the lqe.key encryption code. In the dbconnection.properties, the new password will therefore be shown as an encrypted value that is enclosed in brackets, such as db.password=[XByTzQrz]. The brackets are not part of the password value that you enter.
