Step 5. Run the report

To see the complete report, click Run report. Provide values for the parameters or filters. If the average runtime of a report is greater than 10 seconds and this is not the first time the report is running, a status message is displayed with the loading indicator. This status message updates at a regular time interval based on the average runtime of the previous runs.

About this task

You can use the dynamic Filters option to edit the configuration or conditions set for the report. When the dynamic filters are cleared, the default choices from the report that include the conditions that are specified in the Set conditions section and the projects that are selected in the Limit the scope section are retained.

To find out details about the logic behind the dynamic filters, read the topic Considerations for reporting on data in configurations.

If you show the report as a table, you can add and change filters on columns by clicking the Edit Edit icon icon.

After you apply filters to a column, you can see a Edit Pencil with an asterisk above it icon with asterisk:
  • To change the filter values, click that icon.
  • To see which filter values are applied, hover over the column name.

If Report Builder reports don’t show the artifacts that you expect, show artifacts more than one time, or show different number of artifacts than the application views, ask the application administrator to validate the TRS feeds for the application. See Validating TRS feeds and the Lifecycle Query Engine index.

If the report is incomplete due to different conditions, such as, data sources that are indexing, validating data, or being removed, appropriate error messages are displayed. You can rerun the report after the Lifecycle Query Engine processes are complete. The report also displays an information icon along with hover text, if Lifecycle Query Engine conditions affected the execution time of the report.
