Exporting widgets to HTML

You can export widgets by copying the HTML text and pasting it into an HTML file.

About this task

To export a widget, do these steps:

Procedure

  1. From a widget on the dashboard, click the down arrow in the upper, right corner of the widget, and then click Export Widget. The Export Widget wizard displays.
  2. On the Configure Dimensions page, to change the widget size, type the width. The height is automatically calculated. Then, click Next.
  3. On the Get Code Snippet page, copy the HTML text, and click Finish.
  4. Paste the HTML text into an HTML file.
  5. Move the HTML file to a web server, such as an HTTP server, before it is published.
Note: If the HTML file is opened on the local drive, a message shows that the widget is loading in the browser. However, it does not load until you move the file to a web server.
  6. After the HTML file is on a web server, the widget displays in the browser after it is published.
Note: The IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) server that provides the widget content must have a valid SSL certificate. If the SSL certificate is not valid, some browsers might not display content because of security concerns.
